Firstly we drive into center of Bovec where we orient upwards the road going past a church towards Kaninska vas. We follow the road and it soon brings us to a crossroad where we continue straght. Left road drops to village Plužna. We keep following it towards B postaja (B station). At B postaja it turns to left. We keep following it for 1 kilometer to the next crossroad where we turn to left. We follow this road for a short time all the way to a small parking lot at marks for Kanin.

The path that we have taken ascends slightly and leads us through the woods. After 30 minutes we reach an abandoned pasture Gozdec and the path rises some more. We are now walking under the walls of Veliki Skedenj. On the height of 1814 m we see the ruins of buildings, used in the 1. World War and the path turns left. We come across a crossing and take a right straight to Visoki Kanin. As we continue we must pay attention as we can get easily lost in the fog, because the path is not trodden, because of the surface – luckily it is marked and therefore easy to follow in sunny weather. Caution is advised, since we can fall in one off many caves in this area. After a slight ascent, we reach the Dom Petra Skalarja on Kanin.
