We drive from Preddvor towards Jezersko. We turn left behind restaurant Kanonir and we follow the road till the crossroad for aproximately 2 kilometres where a road towards Stegovnik branches to right. We follow this raod for couple of 100 metres till the gate. We park here on a small parking lot.

We follow the forest path from the barrier and it leads us to a crossing in about 20 min. We take a right and follow the path to a clearing with a house. We continue left along the road. After about 20 min, a cart track branches off in a right turn and we take the rut, slightly ascending. We take a left after 15 min (marked with stones) and as it gets worse, it leads us to a scree. We follow a poor path upwards to a marked path, leading to Močnikovo saddle towards Javorniški pass. We turn left and the path sharply ascends after a short traversing. We come to a crossing. We reach a marked path to pasture Javornik na Stegovniku and turn right. We reach a window in Stegovnik and go through it. Steel cable and ladder help us. The path then starts to ascend more sharply and brings us on the crest of Stegovnik followed by a 10 min walk.
