We drive from Kranj towards Jezersko. In village Paloviče we turn left towards Preddvor. After couple of metres we cross a bridge and turn right just behind it. We go straight at next crossroad and left at another. We follow marks for Jakob at first. The road soon brings us to a parking lot at home of elder citizens. We park there.

At the start of parking lot we orient on a way going upwards by a fence of pensionary home. Path rises steeply through a forest and brings us to a summerhouse of Josipa Turnograjska. Here is a sign-in book and some benches. Path drops a little from here and brings us to a car track. We follow a weel marked car track for 5 minutes to the point where we come to a road at restaurant Mima. Here we orient straight upwards in direction of Novi grad and Jakob. Path brings us to a crossroad after couple of 10 metres of walking where we go right (Novi grad left). We follow the right road through a forest for couple of minutes and then we cross a car track which also goes to Jakob. Path rises through a forest and again brings us to a crossroads. We orient to right on a worse beaten path (well marked). We come to a car track if we go straght forward. Our path again crosses a car track after aproximately 5 minutes. It rises steeply and comes close to the car track at the cross. We remain walking on a footpath which goes slightly left from the car track. After that we come to a crossroads where we go right. Left path goes to koča pri Franciju hut. Our right path brings us to a car track where we go left. We follow this car track for aproximately 5 minutes all the way to the hut Iskra on Jakob.
