We drive to Trenta side of Vršič road where we direct towards Soča spring. At the cottage at Soča spring we continue across a bridge all the way to a parking lot at the end of the road at Flori.

We go slightly right from the car. After a few steps the path to Bavški Grintovec branches from us. We go to the right to the forest. Path begins rising steeply and Zadnja Trenta is far deeper under us. After an hour and a half of walking we get to crossroads where we turn left towards Špiček.
We soon get to crossroad to which a path form vršič connects to, and goes to zavetišče pod Špičkom. We get out of the forest and get to the crossroad where we turn left (right = Jalovec). Zavetišče pod Špičkom stands under a pointy rock named Špiček. We only have few more minutes to get to it. We can take a rest or eat something at the house. Refuge has a winter bivouac.
