We drive from Kamnik towards Gornji grad. We turn left at a chapel couple of metres before Gornji grad.We turn right after Gornji Grad if we come from Štajerska side. We stick to the road going upwards by a brook. Road then leaves this brook and brings us to a farm. We continue driving on the road towards a church. We go left in a crossroads couple of metres before the church and drive till sharp right turn. We follow this road till a crossroads where we continue driving on a lower road which soon ends. We park on the end of the road.

We cross a swift at the end of the road and soon the path rises steeply and brings us over hairpin bends to unexpressed ridge. Path then rises through a forest steeply upwards. After 20 minutes of rise steep reduces and brings us under Kal saddle. A shorter rise on a muddy path follows (exceptionally on long dry periods) which brings us to pastures on Kal saddle after 5 minutes. Just couple of ten metres away is a crossroads which directs us to bivouac on Kal.
