We drive through border pass Rateče, Trbiž, Ugovizzo all thw way to Pontebba place whewre we turn in direction of »Passo di Pramollo / Nassfeld«. A macadam road branches to left in a right corner just a little before the pass. There are signposts at a crossroads and a small parking lot where we park.

On the parking lot we turn down a macadam road closed to the public to a crossroads where we turn left towards the mountain next to the Baita Winkel (1470m) cottage. On the mountain we turn left towards Rosskofel Ostgerat. The path crosses a stream and ascends through the forest. Just before the crest it branches. The left path heads towards Malvueric (1899m), but we take the right one through some dwarf pines to the south side of the crest. The path becomes more difficult and some light climbing is required. The whole path is exposed and very slippery when wet. The path continues down natural passages and by a steep stream brings us to a chest with the entry book. Here the path turns right and by light climbing takes us to a steep grassy slope. An exposed crossing towards the less exposed crest follows. We again avoid the crest by going over steep and crumbling south slope of the mountain. Soon we reach the Creta di Pricot summit (2252m) which is actially a bit taller than our goal Rosskofel, which lies a slight slope and a 15 minute ascent away.
